Watch It! The X-Files
Two recently dropped treats for sci-fi fans. This is the first authentic trailer for the new X-Files film, I Want to Believe. As expected, it tells us very little about the plot of the film. The producers have already said that it's set in the present day (so, six years after the events of the series, which ended in 2002), and that people who never cared for the adventures of Mulder and Scully before could still watch this as a stand-alone piece of work. What we do see in the trailer is a lot of Billy Connolly, sans beard, and a little of what might be a vampire (or at least, he looks like Max Shreck from Nosferatu). Is it just me, or does the X-Files theme sound seriously dated now?
After the jump, Star Wars...
Here's the new trailer for the unexpected Star Wars animated film, The Clone Wars, which is set in the gaps between the last three films, and was initially intended solely for television. Lucasfilm were so happy with the results that they're kicking off the series with this full-length feature.

I believe its just you!!!

I have to agree with the other 2, the theme still sends chills down my spine and I love how it kicks in on the trailer. I have several friends who never watched the X-files but they know the theme right away. I think the trailer does a good job of creating some excitement while not giving any spoilers. I know this will be a great film, all the parties waited until the time and script was right. It's also a no-brainer that X-Files fans will flock to theaters in July but with anyone else? There are so many blockbusters this summer I hope the X-Files doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Fox and Carter did a great job of keeping the cost down so if anyone shows up it should be profitable and lead to more films down the road.
