Shopping Bag: A cooler than cool car boot sale
Organised by the same people that gave you the Pretty Taxing range of customised tax discs, it's the hippest car boot sale you're likely to come across in quite a while.
It's called the Art Car Boot Fair, and it's happening this Sunday, 8 June. From 12-6pm, the doors of the Old Truman Brewery - 146 Brick Lane, London - will be flung open to the discerning public, revealing a space teeming with artists and music and food... and fun, the all-important ingredient.
They'll be selling off those artist-designed tax discs from the back of a vintage Vauxhall Victor estate at a £10 discount (sorry if you bought one at my behest already).
There will also be The Artists' Choice Farmers Market. This food buying sounds part just as pleasurable as the ooh-look-at-this-art aspect: the market features, amongst many others, St John Bread & Wine, exotic mushroom sellers the Sporeboys, a psychedelic ice-cream van driven by a lady called Lola, and something called the "concrete vegetable mobile".
There are over 60 artists involved this year, including Sir Peter Blake, Pam Hogg and Gavin Turk - the list goes on and on . But if you're such a multi-tasker that you require even more eye-candy while you shop for art bargains, you can be distracted by the live "graffiti-off", as two cars undergo a very urban kind of make-over.
Now you can't ask fairer than that, for an edgy Sunday afternoon, can you?

Buying from carboots can be a goldmine if you know where to look and what to buy ...
Hi, my name is steve and for over 20 years I have been using carboots as a source of income. Up until 5 years ago you would always see me at local auction houses selling off my carboot gems. However since then, eBay has come along making the process so much easier and in return made me some serious money for very little effort.
Why am I revealing my method? Well the great thing about carboot's is the shear number of them. I only operate in a few choice carboots while there are literally 1000's out there. Fancy finding out how I do it..?
Why not try my Website www.carbootcash.co.uk
