Bloc Party last night became the latest band to jump aboard the download bandwagon, announcing in a live webchat that their third album, Intimacy, would be available online from Thursday (21st). A CD version, complete with extra tracks, will be released on 27 October. I'm not sure if I like this double release "buy it twice, chumps!" shtick, but I guess it's one way to deal with the BitTorrent burglars - and the MP3 is only a fiver. The band told fans that Intimacy would be a mix of "classic Bloc Party" and more "wildly experimental" fare, like the first single, Mercury:
