really, is it bad?

Victoria

I love Christmas and I love the preparation almost more than the event itself. And as the sort of person who plants their bulbs on the first of December, I found this a very timely reminder. (Just don't do Frosty the Snowman muzak.)

I have such a problem with the winter darkness (SAD lights and everything) that anything I can do to propel me through to the solstice I find very helpful. So it might seem like really anal planning, and totally out of place when summer is still going, but I find it gets me through to December the 22nd when the days will start to get longer again. As long as there are green living things growing in my house I feel sort of a bit better about things.

The Garden Monkey

No we are bloody not allowed to talk about Christmas now!!

Not only is it a load of old toot, but I am still enjoying my cannas.

Christmas will come soon enough (YAWN!), but please at least have the decency to not use the C-word until after Halloween.

Many of us love Autumn and we don't appreciate premature decomposition. I always rage against the dying of the light.

Chritmas tat is too soon upon us - don't speed it.

Uhoh, a regular subtropical Ebeneezer Scrooge is on the loose.

Who else will chip in with me to send the GM to the Caribbean for the festive season, to enjoy cannas and bananas in a monkeyishly unfestive season? They play carols on steel drums there, it'll be perfect.

I'll chip in if I get to carry his suitcase - I reckon we should only have Christmas every other year... it comes round far too fast for me!

Karen - An Artists Garden

Sorry you have SAD - but I am with the Garden Monkey on this one - no C. words until after Halloween.
Its only September - I am still waiting for my Indian Summer. It was so b. cold here to-day we had to light the fire, So that was Christmassy (Oh blow - said the C. word)
