Poor old Noel Gallagher. I may have recently declared him the wittiest man in music but it seems an aptitude for the rounded riposte can provide no defence from a Canadian rugby tackle.
Midway through Oasis' headlining performance at the V Festival in Toronto last night, "a man in his thirties" sprinted from the backstage area and forcefully shoved Noel off the stage.
As you can see in the following video, several security guards immediately wrestled the assailant into the wings, closely followed by an angry ape-like creature.
Ever the pro, Mr Gallagher returned to the stage after a 15-minute break to finish the band's set, joking that at least the attack had added "a little excitement to proceedings".
Shame the same didn't happen during the recording of forthcoming single "The Shock of the Lightning", eh Noel?

To quote on eof our news editors: "liam only gets stuck in when he realises there's someone there to restrain him - wimp!"

I was there last night, and saw it go down, the attacker is a coward for shoving Noel from behind... if anything, be a man and let him see you so he can defend himself. We Canadians pride ourselves on our game of hockey, and I can assure you any player that hits from behind in a game is shunned greatly by his piers for making such a wimp-like move! Unfortuantely it is a case of karma for the Gallaghers once again, but all in all either you love Oasis, you love to hate them, but that still means your a fan in one way or the other!

For Christs sake people need to stop going on about karma. It doesn't exist and people who bang on about it just sound stupid. Prime example: Sharon Stone.
