Even with Shopping Bag's great modesty notwithstanding, this is a great tip. From this morning, until Sunday at 7pm there's a jumble sale that will justify that oft-used tag "unmissable".
For a start, if I tell you the "jumble" has been cobbled together by Gwyneth Paltrow, that'll give you an idea of what kind of event it is. Brilliantly, she's working with the excellent London charity Kids Company, which SB is a big fan of. (Here's an interview which ran in the paper during the summer with Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh).
Kids Company was set up in 1996 to help vulnerable inner-city children, many of whom are surviving on their own, within severe deprivation. Last year Kids Company fed 1,273 children on Christmas Day who had nowhere else to go - and gave them all a present.
So. You can see why I like the Kids Company. And really, the £2 entrance fee to the jumble sale this weekend is a good donation even if it just gets you into an empty room. But it doesn't! It gets you into a room that is filled with designer clothes donated from A-listers and big fashion houses, as well as luxurious beauty products and accessories.
