According to psychologist Lucy Beresford, Gordon Brown is 'deeply insecure' and bringing Peter Mandelson back was "Freudian" bordering on "self-mutilating behaviour". In an interview (hyperlink ) on the BBC show The Daily Politics she says:
"interestingly enough from my perspective, certainly bringing Peter Mandelson back into play was a very Freudian compulsion to repeat. It's where people sub-consciously repeat patterns from their past which are normally very painful patterns or scenarios or situations. And I think if you have someone who has brought a maverick back into the cabinet, someone with whom he has extremely complicated personal history that’s almost bordering on self-mutilating behavior."
"He certainly needs self love. He is a deeply insecure person and he has quite a great inferiority complex which habitually he has compensated for by over spending. Compulsive spending often with money he doesn’t have and we collude with a lot of his dysfunctional behavior. So if he wants love, we could give it to him but that might not be what he needs."

According to deeply insecure, mad as cats psychologist Lucy - who has a deep need and craving for acceptance and affirmation of her feelings by promoting her fake science in the media, and has also realised she can make a very good living from spouting such piffle - Gordon has problems. Oh dear Lucy Loon - shouldn't you be looking in the mirror and repeating 'I'm a charlatan shrink nutjob so I have real problems' 1000 times a day, right after your self-obsessed 'I love me' chanting? Loon.
We should sack all psychologists and counsellors and spend the money saved on real things - the banking system is positively moral compared to that shrink bunch of thieves and liars. Most of them have real issues and should never, ever be listened to, paid, or given any power at all.
Fact: people don't need psychologists - but psychologists need people - victims to pay them for their fakery, hence the fact they latch themselves to famous figures to get publicity for their snake-oil selling businesses. Hence this article. Yawn.

My brother in law is a counsellor/psychologist in a big school in Canada and I cannot but agree entirely with the `fake-science' charge.

Ha. Interesting her 'analysis' of Gordon fits in perfectly with the Tory narrative that he has spent too much money on public services. How the hell does she know what Gordon spends his own money on?
I can't believe The Politics Show would even have a hack like that on. Well I can, given Andrew Neil is a deep blue Tory.
