A song of ice and fire
After spending the last two-and-a-half months avidly watching the third season of Game of Thrones, here is a brief rundown of some of the best and most shocking bits.

And so we arrive at the penultimate episode of Season 3. As most fans are well aware, episode 9 is usually the most memorable instalment of the season and The Rains of Castamere is no exception.
Even though there was a complete absence of our favourite odd couple Brienne and Jaime, we got another pair to fill their place this week.
This week was very much about the inner struggle between love and honour and we saw several characters faced with this dilemma.
After last week’s cliff hanger, things are starting to speed up and build towards the finale now that we have crossed the halfway mark of season 3.
After the fire and destruction of last week, there was plenty more of the same this week.
This week’s instalment can be summed up in one word: mesmerising. From the stunning, unending panoramas of Westeros and Essos to the gritty character development, it is hard to fault And Now His Watch Has Ended.
Walk of Punishment was a cyclical episode which started and finished at the same point, with Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) being held hostage.
The song of ice and fire has now begun in earnest with each of the story strands finally re-visited.
