MistaJam: ‘I’m playing music that I genuinely love and if people respond to that then it’s great’
MistaJam looks relaxed and excited. He slouches on a sofa, dressed in baggy jeans and a casual black t-shirt, overlooking the West End of London from the BBC Radio 1Xtra studio. It’s 6.30 in the evening and in thirty minutes, he will broadcast on national radio. It was only last month his radio shows were rewarded with Sony Radio Awards.

BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ, MistaJam’s double Sony Radio Award nomination was always a matter of when not if and sees his services to breaking up and coming artists recognised on the biggest radio stage of them all.
