Anti-folk band David Cronenberg’s Wife explore paedophilia on their latest album
Initially it appeared to be just cunning promotional puffery. “Lyrically, not for the squeamish,” warned the introductory email about Don’t Wait to be Hunted to Hide, the third album by the band David Cronenberg’s wife. “If this is you” – the squeamish – “then you will probably want to skip track eight.”

Habbo Hotel: Let’s not kid ourselves that ‘the internet’ is our biggest problem
Much has been made of the righteous Channel Four News investigation into online game Habbo Hotel. A Channel Four producer signed up to the site describing herself as an eleven year old, and found that she was being inappropriately approached by people on the site.

Nearly one in four people experienced sexual abuse as a child. Why is this swept under the carpet?
A predominant focus in the recent case of the sex gang found guilty of abusing teenagers in Manchester was on “Asian men” preying on “vulnerable white girls”. Yet last month, the alarming statistic from the NSPCC that a child is subjected to a sex crime every twenty minutes in the UK went shockingly under-reported, in one tabloid relegated to a tiny box on page twelve, as if it wasn’t even worthy of being considered news.
