It's all over bar the crying
America's punditocracy has declared that it's all over for Hillary Rodham Clinton. Foremost among them is NBC's Tim Russert who laid it on the line for Hillary in the wake of the North Carolina and Indiana votes.
Just after midnight Russert declared: "We now know who the Democratic nominee's going to be, and no one’s going to dispute it. Those closest to her will give her a hard-headed analysis, and if they lay it all out, they’ll say: 'What is the rationale? What do we say to the undeclared super delegates tomorrow? Why do we tell them you're staying in the race?' And tonight, there's no good answer for that."
As the New York Times's Jim Rutenberg said: "The impact was apparent almost immediately, starting with the Drudge Report, the online news billboard that is the homepage to many political reporters in Washington and news producers in New York. It had as its lead story a link to a YouTube clip of Russert’s comments, accompanied by a photograph of a beaming Obama with his wife, Michelle, and the headline, "The Nominee".
"I think there's an increasing presumption tonight that Obama's going to be the nominee," Fox News host Chris Wallace said to Karl Rove (otherwise known as Bush's former brain) and now a Fox News analyst David Gergen, a former adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton, has said, "I think the Clinton people know the game is almost up." Bob Franken, a political analyst said: "Let’s put it right on the table: It’s over. It’s over."
As the the NYTimes points out there was "a devastating cascade of sound bites for Mrs Clinton and her campaign" on the morning talk shows. Bob Schieffer told the CBS News programme Early Show: "Basically, Maggie, this race is over." Even George Stephanopoulos who used to work for Bill and Hillary told ABC's Good Morning America: “This nomination fight is over.”
The newspaper headlines were no less kind “Toast!” screamed the New York Post; "Hil Needs a Miracle" said the New York Daily News.

SUPERDELEGATES should be allowed, and encouraged to take all the time they need to make this decision. It’s too crucial for the country.

Yes indeed, the media dunderheads wish it was over. Hillary is a hero. There's nothing more entertaining than watching the propaganda spin heads on the cable channels squirm in their seats while trying to churn up some more nonsense for their corporate masters. The Republicans are left out of this tent show. The Clintons are running the media now, revenge is sweet. It's over when Hillary says it's over, in the meantime Fox, CNN, MSNBC and their pundits can sit and spin their lies and misinformation. Hillary may not get the nomination but she gets the spotlight and we get to watch the morons with their absurd opinions sit and tell lies until she says stop. I hope she goes all the way to the convention in August. It's all over for corporate propaganda. The best thing they can do is sell off their cable BSness pack up and leave town. The media is being pwned and they are so out of touch they don't even know it.
