What is it about inane television commentators that they think it is funny to joke about about killing a presidential candidate. The latest incident happened during a live exchange with (surprise surprise) a FOX News anchor when Liz Trotta a regular FOX Contributor jokingly wished for the assassination of Barack Obama.
This is all part of a trend in which it has become acceptable for the American chatterati to use violent language about Obama. When asked her opinion of comments made by Hillary Clinton, Trotta helpfully described them as: "some are reading [it] as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama." Yes she actually said Osama.
Hemmer quickly corrected to which Trotta replied, "Obama. Well...both if we could!" while laughing like a drain.
Right-wing talking heads on FOX and other channels have routinely called Obama the name "Osama" in what many feel is a not so subliminal propaganda campaign to persuade what are know as low information voters that he has secret ties to terrorists.
How dare them! Everyone knows it's only acceptable to say things like that about George W. Bush.....
