Obama's got a thing about Abe Lincoln and he's already given thought to getting the White House Lincoln bedroom back in shape - by throwing out the flat screen TV.
At a town hall-style meeting in Fargo, North Dakota he was asked about what makeover plans he had for the Lincoln Bedroom. Obama described visiting the White House soon after he became a U.S. senator:
"You have all these mementos of Abraham Lincoln, but you have this flat-screen TV in there," Obama told the crowd at the outdoor event.
"I thought to myself, 'Now, who stays in the Lincoln Bedroom and watches [ESPN's] 'Sports Center'? You've got your clicker... That didn't seem to me to be appropriate. So I might take out the TV, I don't know.
"You should read when you're in the Lincoln Bedroom! Reread the Gettysburg Address. Don't watch TV."

John F kennedy said "Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country". I don't really care what color Obama is, it is his politics I don't care for. He wants to be a Robin Hood of sorts and have the government run everything. For crying out loud DC can't even run their white house resturant properly let alone the country. The government has thrown money at programs for YEARS and YEARS and people are still sitting on their butts waiting for a handout and that is how it will continue as long as they get it. Everyone thinks he will fix everything but when we are like England with 50-60% taxes, no motivation, no productivity, and lousy health care maybe then they will realize they made a mistake in voting.

I have been a republican for the past several elections. I am tired of the snowwhite darkness. My bet is this black man will bring some things back to an acceptable balance of clean. Mr. Obama, I'm glad you will be bringing a large portion of our soldiers home. I'm glad you take a stand for re-energizing inovation and a plan to produce our own fuel sources. I have confidence in American know how. When put under global economic pressure we will fight to become a diamond produced from the coal which we now appear to be.I know you are the leader for this time.

Just a comment, I think it is a good idea for Oboma taking the TV out of Lincoln's bed room. I would do the same thing(some things are ment to be left the way it is).To the person who made the comment about "Oboma being half this and a little bit of that", I think your just jealous because it isn't you going in that "Big White House" andYour the one that chooses to be prejudice, therefore you make it hard for yourself to adapt to reality!!!!

I think, That Obama can make any decision in the white house that he wants, because if Richard Nixon can put a bowling alley, and Truman can add a balcony. what's the difference in Obama. Some people need leave the racism alone. and to jojo, what give you the right to call him a monkey. That's a racist comment. It's not about race it's about what he can do for this country. Just like you gave every other president a chance give him a equal oppurtunity to show what he can do. and for you being so nasty, I guess your lil vote didn't matter because he's in the office. So ask your self talking about him will not change a damn thing but believing he will make a change can make a big difference.I serve in the United states Army, the Army is going to get more effect. You can take your ass back Albania, and talk about your own president but, this is millions of peoples homes and we can't go to another countrie so keep your comments to your self.

I am absolutely fuming at the nasty evil racist comments of jo jo, please please please ban this person from any sort of communications through the internet, their own words n feelings on Americas president to be is ridiculous, ancient and should not be shown. More to the point America voted a brain not a shell, a persons life skills not their blood line and more importantly the person who jo jo is dictating their nasty evil views on is the one person who may change the course of this world. Absolutely disgusting please delete his comments!!

I agree. Get the TV out of the Lincoln bedroom! What silly put it in there in the first place? I love it when I book restored old hotels and B & B's and discover no TV or phone.

It just makes me 'cringe' to think of a flat screen TV, or any TV was allowed in the Lincoln bedroom. I agree with Obama's sentiments to the tee!

This is just one more example of how much President Elect Obama is "on point". I see him as most conscious of the atmosphere near him and far from him. WE have a challenging yet successful four years ahead of us with Barack Obama as President of the United States of America.

Okay, take it out but Rev. Jackson, Al Sharpton and Rev. Wright won't like it without TV.
