Iraq linked to 9/11 says candidate Palin

By Leonard Doyle in Washington

Speaking yesterday Sarah Palin said the Iraq war was linked to the attacks of September 11, 2001, "telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would 'defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans,'" according to the Washington Post.

"America can never go back to that false sense of security that came before September 11, 2001," said Palin at the deployment ceremony.

But the idea that Iraq shared responsibility with al-Qai'da for the 9/11 attacks which was once promoted by Neocons in the Bush administration has even been rejected  by the president himself.

Oh, no, not again! HOW can so many American's be so ignorant of the facts? I just don't get it. I have no doubt there are over 50% who still think Iraq was involved in 9/11, and who think Obama is Muslim. God help us.

I find the McCain / Palin ticket really scary...they seem to be Bush / Cheney on steroids and without the latter's sense of proportion.

@ Worried - I think the appeal of Sarah Palin is precisely in her ignorance. She says to the unthinking Right "ignorance is the new knowledge".

This lady is crazier than Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld put together and, dare I say, pig-ignorant.
