After failing to deliver a knockout blow during Tuesday night's debate, the McCain campaign is returning to the gutter attacking Barack Obama's character and blaming him for the actions of the 1960s Weather Underground radical William Ayers. Obama was 8 years of age at the time.
McCain's campaign is back on the offensive today and has just released this statement by John M. Murtagh:
"When I was 9 years-old the Weather Underground, the terrorist group founded by Barack Obama's friend William Ayers, firebombed my house. Barack Obama has dismissed concerns about his relationship with Ayers by noting that he was only a child when Ayers was planting bombs at the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol. But Ayers has never apologized for his crimes, he has reveled in them, expressing regret only for the fact that he didn't do more.
"While Barack Obama once downplayed his relationship with Ayers, today his campaign took that deceit one step further. Barack Obama now denies he was even aware of his friend's violent past when, in 1995, Ayers hosted a party launching Obama's political career. Given Ayers' celebrity status among the left, it's difficult to believe. The question remains: what did Obama know, and when did he know it? When did Obama learn the truth about his friend? Barack Obama helped Ayers promote his book in 1997, served on charitable boards with him through 2002, and regularly exchanged emails and phone calls with him through 2005. At what point did Barack Obama discover that his friend was an unrepentant terrorist? And if he is so repulsed by the acts of terror committed by William Ayers, why did the relationship continue? Any honest accounting by Barack Obama will necessarily cast further doubt on his judgment and his fitness to serve as commander in chief.

This article is absolutely absurd!
The final paragraph in trying to summarise the point being made simply dives into the realms of comedy, when trying to make it sound simple that Barrack Obama's 'friend' tried to kill you. An absolutely ridiculous assertion to make.

N.B. In supporting the Contras, John McCain was funding the type of activity he might otherwise term "terrorist", involving attacks against civilians, hospitals, schools, etc.He was actually funding their ACTIVITY.

where in the world are people getting this trash. the ny times did a very detailed history of obama's non-relationship with bill ayers. even the washington post, while less than clear, acknowledged the mccain/palin accusations are not real. considering the gutter level of the mccain/palin campaign attacks, it would seem prudent, if not intelligent, to suspect every and anything that comes from that campaign. on this issue, mccain/palin are essentially saying that because obama lives in a high density city with people of a variety of backgrounds, he is to be held accountable for each and everyone of them. perhaps he should have vetted and purged chicago before running for office. that is what this attack is about--nothing but hyperbole to compensate for emptiness; nastiness to distract from reality.
how about looking at the reality of the mccain involvement with the keating s&l debacle in the later 1980's which cost the taxpayers several million dollars. keating did jail time and mccain maneuvered himself to get out of hot water which he was in up to his receding hairline.
then you can look at the neo-nazi organization of which he was a board member. this group was involved in the iran-contra affair which traded drugs for guns to destabilize nicaragua. as a board member his name was on their letterhead. this is irrefutable.
and then there are voting records, again public record. mccain is an arch supporter of the bush policy programs which seek to move all wealth to the top of the heap at the expense of the public. any social programs get labeled pork barrel spending by mccain. why noone in the media has questioned him on this is beyond me. it keeps the drama going for them and supports mccain who is a doddering, warmongering snot-nose kid gotten older.
obama's record is also clear. he has supported social programs for the people. that is what the government should be doing. not just pouring unrestricted monies into the ceo's of the megabig military and pharmaceutical corporations. obama, btw, has also voted for large expenditures on the military. he has supported funding for veterans health and military armor which mccain did not. mccain has voted against veteran benefits.
and mister i-am-against-torture mccain voted for torture techniques to be made legal. he is clearly the flipflop of the century. keith olberman has done a wonderful piece on the mccain flip flops which can be viewed on you tube. there is mccain, with his own mouth contradicting himself.
so when some of you want to extend your claws, why don't you do a bit of thinking and research first and make your accusations based on something real. maybe then you might get taken seriously. what i do take seriously is the emotional arguments that you have been subjected to, and apparently bought. this does nothing for the future of yourselves or the world around us.

Reports two more donors to the Obama campaign that gave a total of $7,722 appear to have made their contributions under fake names that look like they were written by a mouse running across a keyboard: Dahsudhu Hdusahfd of Df, Hawaii with the following employer CZXVC/ZXVZXV and Uadhshgu Hduadh listed as living in Dhff, Florida listed their employer as DASADA/SAFASF.
WASHINGTON/PRNewswire -- The Republican National Committee (RNC) today filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against the Obama for America campaign addressing its acceptance of foreign national and excessive contributions. The complaint demonstrates that the Obama campaign has failed to comply with federal campaign finance law in its fundraising.

Obama camp has been cagey about the means by which it has made its historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for the election cycle. His opponents during primaries raised questions about the huge amount of e-retail sales Obama camp was making for such things as t-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked and used for fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against the $2,300 personal donation limit.
Ignorned by MSM like CNN & MSNB. FEC analyst says that Obama's filings indicate he has received large, bundled sums of donations from overseas, sometimes exceeding a quarter millions dollars. "It's suspicious, and it's the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined. Obama camp ignores the FEC. Until recently, the Obama Web allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unlike McCain's or Sen. Hillary Clinton's online donation pages, the Obama site DOES NOT ask for PROOF of CITIZENSHIP!!! until recently. Clinton's presidential campaign required U.S. citizens living abroad to actually fax a copy of their passport before a donation would be accepted. With such lax vetting of foreign contributions, the Obama camp may have directly contributed to questionable fundraising by foreigners.
