America's cultural civil war is in full spate. This upsetting video taken by an Obama volunteer outside McCain's rabble-rousing visit to Ohio yesterday shows how nasty the election is getting. McCain's rally warm up acts kept referring to Barack Hussein Obama and lots of people were shouting out that he is "a terrorist," among other things.

The people interviewed on this video clip are afraid. People in fear do not behave rationally. In a year or two they will look back on their behaviour in this video and be be some what ashamed to have carried on in such a way.

Hey Rick, you will NOT find similar people at an Obama rally. You will NOT find people labeling McCain a terrorist and calling for his death. There's a huge difference that seem to be lost on you. It's with these sorts of labels that the McCain campaign is guilty of that only ratchet up the fear and hatred of the extremists. As election day draws closer, all it takes is one right wing loon to act upon the unconscionable message being relayed by the McCain campaign where in his mind he's doing his patriotic duty to purge America of terrorists. It's not like America doesn't have a history of political assassinations.
As far as Keating, you should learn about what happened yourself instead of asking others to educate you on it. The facts of the Keating scandal are very cut and dried and earned McCain a sharp rebuke from the Senate Ethics Committee. Of course republican senate investigators wanted to let him go. Why is that surprising to you? For the 40+ years that Dems controlled congress, they actually had a strong record of policing themselves, ignoring partisanship. In the short time Republicans have had controlling congress they have shown an all too willingness to look the other way on crimes perpetrated by their GOP colleagues while willing to prosecute Democrats on even fabricated, manufactured claims. For evidence look to the prosecution of Don Siegelman, or the absurd outrage demonstrated over Acorn, with the stunt of raiding their offices despite Acorn having provided the government in advanced of all suspicious activities. Meanwhile, very obvious voter fraud schemes perpetrated by republicans go completely unprosecuted.
Plus, more recently than Obama kicking off at Ayers house was McCain buddying with G Gordon Liddy at a fundraiser for him at Liddy's place. What's up with that?

I loved how Letterman slammed McCain the other night by saying that the guilt by association that he's attempting by pinning Obama to Ayers, a similar case could be made with McCain's association with domestic and unrepentant domestic terrorist G Gordon Liddy. When McCain tried to lie and say 'well I've met him a few times', Letterman slammed him with a "well, he has done fundraisers for you at his house." McCain was speechless while the crowd roared its approval.
So to all you right wing robots that can only recite what the talking points conservatives feed you, Ayers is no longer mentioned by McCain, not even his bimbo running mate Palin since they figured out that such a line of attack was obviously NOT WORKING and MAKING THEM LOOK AS STUPID AS THEIR SUPPORTERS by focusing on such petty topics in the middle of an economic crisis.
So to all you McCainiacs, there will be a new label that you can call yourselves very soon if you haven't already. LOSERS!

So tell me what does this prove?
You could find the same sort of people at an Obama rally. This is why the founders designed a representative republic.
Tell me did you see anyone "fall out" as they do in the presence of "the one"?
uh johnathan ... can you tell me what McCain was actually found guilty of in keating? Seems to me the investigators wanted to let him go but the Dems would have none of that, but he was never found guilty. Obama did kick off at Ayres house.

When I encounter stuff such as this I send more money to Obama...

What's interesting is that there are actually some normal people amongst these right-wing nutbags.
I always find it difficult to comprehend how normal, soft-spoken Republicans who care about the issues intermingle with the right-wing extremists whose sole purpose in life now is to recite "Barack Hussein Obama" over and over again.
Living in the heavily conservative Orange County, California, I have several Republican friends (oddly enough); and they would never act the way some of those circus sideshows were carrying on.
Also, the fact that there are still people here in America who think Barack Obama is a 'terrorist' shows how boorishly ignorant some of these people are.
Personally, I think it's quite humorous that people such as the blonde woman in the video are synonymous with the Republican party; however, it sickens me when those people think they are the true representatives of America. They often refer to me as a 'communist', a 'liberal', a 'European socialist', and my favourite, 'unpatriotic'!

Well, Fred, by using your ignorant excuse for logic, which seems to be "You are the same as people you know", McCain is definitely an anti-Semite (see:Fred Malek), as well as a fraudster costing the US taxpayer billions (see:Keating).
Actually, McCain was one of the Keating 5 himself, so forget that last part since he really did defraud people, no association with other fraudsters necessary.
And I thought you people called the Civil War "The War of Northern Aggression"?

Actually, Freddie's comment brings to mind that Gary Larson cartoon with a psychoanalyst taking notes while a patient speaks on and on. The notes say: "Just plain nuts". :)

Fred T's comments are typical of the fringe far-right when they know they are on course for losing an election. Unfounded, bigoted comments like these are all small-minded fear-mongering zealots have left when their candidate has no platform to run on. Luckily the American people are not falling for these tired tactics this time and when Obama is proclaimed the victor in November they can get back into their pick-up trucks, crack open a six-pack and cry a river for old man McCain and his disastrous campaign.
